If most of us saw a tarantula in the wild, we would probably run screaming in the other direction. If you happen to see a Peacock Tarantula, however, you may just end up squealing for an entirely different reason.
Let’s face it, spiders are a little on the creepy side and if you happen to have arachnophobia, they are downright terrifying. We don’t necessarily enjoy having them in our home and the thought that we are never very far away from a spider at any given moment is not a thought that we relish.
However, if you are not a big fan of spiders, you will still appreciate the beauty that is found in a Peacock Tarantula.

If you happen to get bitten by one of these blue spiders, you should plan on being in a lot of pain for a week or longer.

Although we wouldn’t want to get close enough to one of these tarantulas to get bitten, they are amazing to look at online. After all, you won’t find another spider quite like them.
They live in tall trees, creating funnel webs and feasting on insects. They may even live with other Peacock Tarantulas if there aren’t enough holes nearby.
If you happen to come across one of the spiders in the wild, they are likely to run in the other direction. If you happen to corner one, however, prepare for a fight.

Of course, you don’t have to be too concerned about running into one of these tarantulas in the wild. They are found in central southern and southern India, living out in the forest.
Harvesting of trees for logging and firewood has resulted in a significant decline in their numbers.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about this spider is the fact that they aren’t actually blue. It’s the hairs on their skin that causes the light to reflect and bend, displaying a blue color. If you look at them from a different angle, you will even see a different shade of blue.
