We tend to have the same likes and dislikes as our friends, but sometimes, we may hear of those who are truly “strange bedfellows.” That is sure to be what comes to your mind when you hear about a partially blind raccoon and his 2 friends, who just happen to be kittens.
The raccoon has been visiting his human friend, Eryn, since 2009 in order to get some food. Typically, he would show up in the morning for breakfast but there were times when he would also show up for a snack later. When he came back in October 2014, however, he didn’t come alone. There were 2 black stray kittens who needed a meal as well.
If it weren’t for the kindness of this raccoon, the kittens probably would not have survived. Every day, they would show up to grab a bite to eat and then disappear into the forest. This continued until the raccoon died in June 2015.
After the death of the raccoon, Eryn thought about adopting the little kittens, and that is exactly what she did. She tamed them, had them fixed, and kept them fed. After adopting the little felines, Eryn fell onto hard times when her mother and her 15-year-old cat died within 2 weeks of each other. Those little kittens helped to heal the hurt.
