It’s always interesting when you see animals go viral online. Some of them go viral for the strangest reasons, which may include this two-year-old borzoi from Virginia. It seems as if she is now an Internet sensation, due to her 12-inch long nose.
Eris is known by her owner, Lily Kambourina, as the “Madam Eris Overbite, Queen of Snoot.” She was adopted as a puppy in 2018. Although it’s not official, Lily feels that her dog has the biggest dog nose in the world.
It seems as if many people can’t get enough of Eris, because she has more than 1.7 million followers on Instagram. In fact, she is perhaps more popular than any other dog on social media! You can usually find her pictures on Facebook and Twitter as well, and many people are shocked by what they see.
Eris was adopted by Lily after being born with two other puppies. She had some dental issues at the time and would often have her teeth poking into her gums. She still drops food while she is eating, but her snout doesn’t seem to cause any other problems.
“She is so happy to see people and other dogs but can get very skittish around very small dogs. Sometimes she gets grumpy but it is so goofy and lovely because borzoi is very quiet. I don’t think we’ve heard her actually bark,” Lily was quoted by Metro.
Lily started the Instagram page as a type of scrapbook, but the dog community has really stepped in to make things interesting.
People have a lot to say about her long nose.
A user wrote on Instagram, “I still wonder what it looks like when she had to wear a muzzle. How looong would it be. Is it even possible to fit one on her sweet long snoot?”
“What an incredible dog! I’ve never seen one before,” wrote another

Lily says that she is often stopped by people who want to try to figure out Eris’ breed.
“We get stopped a lot when we are walking Eris because most people are trying to figure out what breed she is, but we’ve started finding paths through the neighbourhood where we can actually get a walk done,” said Lily.
As far as Eris is concerned, she uses her nose to sometimes sneak a meal off the table. Other than that, she’s enjoying her Internet fame.
