While the COVID-19 pandemic has done a pretty good job of canceling social gatherings in physical form, it has not stopped us from gathering virtually in order to enjoy each other’s company. And Cody Alan, the CMT radio host, has been hard at work finding ways for pets to get socially active online despite the coronavirus pandemic that has everyone in lockdown.
Alan was recently responsible for the debate of Teddy Time: a virtual pet playdate session airing twice weekly on both his Instagram and Facebook accounts.
Country music stars, accompanied by their pets, will be partaking in the series, which was named in honor of Alan’s own precious little 7-month-old golden retriever puppy, Teddy. In fact, one of the first episodes featured both Alan and Teddy welcoming the singer RaeLynn and her two dogs, Cash and Dolly. And yes, they were obviously named after Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash.
As Alan explained at the start of the video, “We bring the celebrities and their dogs to you.”
It doesn’t get better than that.
Speaking of her precious all-black 1.5-year-old German shepherd pup, Cash, RaeLynn remarked that, “He’s the man in black,” which is a reference to Johnny Cash’s nickname.
Alan then referred to his own pup, Teddy, who was busy enjoying a treat, saying, “So you can totally relate to where I’m at right now with 7-month-old Teddy over here. If I didn’t give him a treat right now RaeLynn he would be all over me, he’d be all over this camera, so I gave him a treat just to keep him sedated for a moment.”
RaeLynn shared, “When I saw you got a puppy I was the most excited because they are the best.”
Both Alan and RaeLynn showed each other their pups on-screen, promising to get them to a playdate in real life once the pandemic lockdown restrictions have been lifted.
Alan also had Brantley Gilbert and his dog, Bo. Meanwhile, his future expected guests include Mitchell Tenpenny, Brandon Lancaster, Nikko Moon, Midland’s Mark Wystrach, Rachel Wammack, and Hunter Hayes.

Coronavirus may have canceled going outside, but at least it hasn’t canceled adorable pets online.
