Dogs love unconditionally and that love extends to other species as well.
A pregnant dog in northern India took in an orphaned monkey after its mother was poisoned along with other adult monkeys for supposedly destroying crops. The dog’s maternal instincts kicked in when she heard the 10-day old monkey’s cries.
Photographer, Prakash Badal, captured touching photos of the pair when he discovered them while photographing birds in the area. He was so moved by the dog’s unconditional love and compassion that he spent a day photographing the pair and allowing the little monkey to nap in his lap.
The dog was called Brown and the monkey acquired the name “Bajrangi”. Badal posted, “Brown’s lap started flowing rivers of milk for this little monkey.”
The expecting mother was so patient with the little monkey as it climbed and played all over her. Brown is already an amazing mother to Bajrangi and proves that there is no love like a mother’s love.
After observing and spending time with the pair, Badal said, “Although sometimes there are conflicts between monkeys and dogs, the relationship of a mother is more important.
“I felt that when a mother saw a baby who is very small and left alone and there is nobody to take care of him, the maternal instinct took the initiative to adopt a small baby even if it’s from different species.
“This type of relationship is a lesson for humans who have become selfish and kill each other just because he is from another cast or religion.”
We have so much to learn from animals. See how the dog’s love has no limits in the video below.
