Use This Genius Trick The Next Time Your Dog Needs Its Toenails Clipped

Caring for a dog requires a lot of work. You have to feed your pet, clean up after it, bathe it regularly, it’s a lot like taking care of a human, right down tot he toenails.

Some pet parents opt for a trip to the groomers or vet to have their animals’ toenails clipped. While most dogs are skittish enough around the clippers, when adding the unfamiliarity of a new environment, this approach doesn’t always work out well.

Clipping your pet’s toenails at home can be challenging. You may feel like you;re hanging on to those paws for dear life when your pet tries incessantly to yank them away. To make matters worse, the risk of injury is much higher when an animal is panicking like that. It’s no wonder many call in the professionals.

Dog owner Kendal Peifer came across the dilemma several times before she found a simple yet effective solution, first conceived by her father. She recalled he would hang the family’s Boston Terrier from a door frame, cradles in an old purse.

Suspended in mid-air, and no shortage of comfort, Kendal’s father had little problem clip their dog’s nails. The terrier may have actually looked forward to the experience after a while. Shortly after posting the trick to Twitter, the video went viral.

“That’s hilarious and genius,” one viewer commented.

“Great IDEA! Not sure if my chihuahua would do better in an Armani or Coach, just thanks that it will be a small one… ” wrote Steve Smith.

The discovery is truly unique.

“Dadgineering skills at 100% rn,” wrote Johnathiccc.

“I didn’t think it would get so popular,” Kendal told Buzzfeed. “It worked surprisingly well!”
